UNSW initiated the Global Water Institute (UNSW-GWI) in January 2016 with the appointment of Professor Nick Schofield as its inaugural Director. The Institute has a membership of over 400 researchers, professional staff and PhD candidates spanning seven faculties and a dozen research centres.
